Religious Services
Kabbalat Shabbat Services are held weekly on Friday evenings at 5:30 p.m. The time changes to 6:00 p.m. during the spring and summer. The change for 2010 will take place on April 9.
Shabbat morning services begin at 9:15 a.m. every Saturday. Shabbat liturgy, nusach and Divrei Torah delivered by our Cantor make each Shabbat inspiring for those attending. There are also many occasions throughout the year when the congregation will hold special Shabbat services, from a scholar-in-residence Shabbat to a university student Shabbat and more.
Congregants are encouraged to contribute to Shabbat services by chanting a Haftorah or delivering a D’var Torah. Please contact the Cantor to make arrangements. The Cantor will also be happy to guide you along the way.
Junior Congregation runs twice a month and welcomes all children ages 4-15.
Shaar Shalom holds services on all Jewish Holidays: specific schedules for holidays are available in the synagogue office. High Holiday services are open to all members of the Shaar, and to non-members who purchase tickets. Full time students and members of the military are provided High Holiday tickets gratis. Kol Nidre services are open to everyone – tickets are not required.
